A carton of 144 hair clips. Twenty cartons of glass tumblers in four designs. Sixty dozen kitchen sponges, three hundred phone stands, and a pallet of gift boxes to round out the container. Wholesale buying from Yiwu is rarely about one product. It is about an assortment, priced right across the whole list, packed tight, and landed in your warehouse ready to sell on. That is the job of a Yiwu wholesale agent, and it is a different job from sourcing a single product line.
We do this work from inside Yiwu: our own staff in the wholesale market, our own warehouse for collecting and packing, a registered Chinese company behind both. Here is how Yiwu wholesale sourcing works when we run it for you.
An assortment is a puzzle, not a list
Every item on a wholesale list has its own minimums, its own carton size, and its own supplier. The skill is in assembling the puzzle: hitting quantities that earn wholesale pricing on each line, without overbuying slow items just to fill a box, and ending up with a load that actually fits the container or the freight budget. A Yiwu wholesale sourcing agent earns the fee here, in the trade-offs, not in the walking.
We will also tell you when a line does not belong in the order. Some products are cheaper or better sourced outside Yiwu, and dragging them into a Yiwu shipment to keep things tidy is a false economy. Neutral fact, honestly delivered.
Price bands, and choosing yours
Almost everything in the market exists in more than one quality band. The same style of tumbler comes in a thinner glass and a heavier one. The same toy comes with and without the better print and the stronger clip. Wholesale buyers get hurt when they compare their quote against a cheaper band without realising it. Part of our work as a Yiwu wholesale buying agent is putting the bands side by side, with samples where it matters, so the price you approve belongs to the quality you think you are buying.
What a wholesale order with us involves
- Your list, with quantities and target prices. Rough is fine to start; it firms up as quotes come in.
- Quotes per line, with minimums and carton details, gathered from the market and our supplier contacts.
- Your approval, line by line. Cutting or swapping lines at this stage is normal and free.
- Ordering, payment to suppliers, and collection into our warehouse as deliveries arrive.
- Counting and checking against the order, then consolidation and loading for shipment.
Throughout, you see supplier prices and our commission separately. The commission runs on order value, tiered roughly 4% to 10% by service level and size. Larger consolidated wholesale orders tend toward the lower tiers.
Keeping the range alive
Wholesale ranges go stale. The colours that sold last year quietly stop selling, and the market in Yiwu moves on to new designs before most catalogues abroad notice. Because our people are in the market constantly, a standing client can ask a simple question between orders: what is new in my categories? We answer with photos and prices from the aisles, not from a brochure. Reordering the winners and testing a few newcomers each cycle is how the healthy accounts run.
Where we say no
We are not a stockholder. We buy against your order, we do not sell you goods from our own inventory, so “send me whatever sells well” is not a brief we accept. We also do not advise on the import rules, product regulations or taxes of your country; your broker confirms those. And if your quantities are below wholesale reality, single pieces, or a handful of units per design, we will say plainly that the model does not fit rather than waste your money proving it.
Can I mix many designs within one supplier’s minimum?
Often yes, within limits the supplier sets per design or per carton. It is negotiated booth by booth, and it is one of the things we push on hardest, because assortment depth is what wholesale buyers actually need.
Do I have to fill a whole container?
No. Consolidated loads share container space with other cargo, and our warehouse builds your shipment either way. Full containers get better freight economics per cubic metre; we will show you both numbers.
Can you photograph everything before it ships?
Yes. Photo records of received goods and packed cartons are part of the warehouse routine, and we send them before loading, not after.
